Germany Photo Story

Saturday, October 10th, 2009

Having taken the shiny new Nikon D90 with me on my trip to Berlin and Hamburg, I’ve come back with just over 1,000 photos. A large amount, even for me. So in a departure from the norm, I’ve chosen to only upload a selection of them to the public view of Blakepics.

As usual, you can also find a full quality version of this video on Blakepics. The music for this one is from the soundtrack of Die Riesen Kommen entitled "Decollage", the show from Royal De Luxe put on in Berlin to prompt this trip.

Norway Photo Story

Monday, June 29th, 2009

I’m now back home from a week away in Norway, and whilst there are still draft blog posts sitting on the server, I’ve gone ahead and procrastinated over their completion by sorting out photos instead. All these pictures come from Norway mostly along the Oslo-Bergen route, including a stop off in Flåm.

The rest of the photos, including the ones in the video above are on Blakepics, where you can also find a full quality version of this video. The music for this one is an acoustic version of “My Heroine” by Silverstein.

Vietnam Photo Story

Sunday, December 7th, 2008

The end of my Vietnam trip has come and gone, so here’s the inevitable photo story from my time away. The pictures come from all over Vietnam from Hanoi down to Ho Chi Minh (or Saigon, if you prefer). Facebook users will probably need to click through to the original article link to see the video.

The rest of the photos, including the ones in the video above are on Blakepics, where you can also find a full quality version of this video. The music for this one in case you’re interested, is “Easier to Lie” by Aqualung, inspired by a recent episode of Lead Balloon.

West Balkans Photo Story

Sunday, June 8th, 2008

As you probably worked out from the last post, I’ve been on holiday again. So, as is tradition – here’s the usual photo story. The pictures come from various West Balkanite countries; Bosnia, Montenegro, Albania and Macedonia. Facebook users will probably need to click through to the original article link to see the video.

The rest of the photos, including the ones in the video above will be on Blakepics shortly (as soon as I’ve got my server running again). Likewise, a full quality version of the video will be here. The music, “Let me be myself” by 3 Doors Down.

Incidentally, more blog posts from the trip are also on the way. Some are drafts, some are notes, some probably don’t exist yet – but they’ll be spreading across the site like mould on bread very shortly.

The Netherlands Photo Story

Sunday, December 9th, 2007

For the past week, I’ve been in The Netherlands. It was the first holiday for a very long time where I haven’t actively blogged along the way. So that might all come as a retrospective at some point.

In the meantime, I’ll sum it up extremely briefly as:

  • Coffee shops that actually sell coffee in Amsterdam, are referred to as Café‘s
  • Weed, ‘Shrooms, Prostitutes
  • The most racist of the festive holidays I’ve experienced so far
  • Singstar in Dutch- it’s the taking part that counts
  • Van Gogh, Andy Warhol and most importantly, Heringa/ Van Kalsbeek

These may form the subjects of some posts, at some point… For now, enjoy the usual photo story below. Or check out the full quality version. For Facebook users reading this – yes, you need to click through for the vid :)

The rest of the photos, including the ones in the video above are on Blakepics. Credit for some of these photos also goes to Chorna. The music, “Before it’s too late” by The Goo Goo Dolls.
