About me

What?

I’m a web developer with a strong interest in all sorts of technology and a focus on what it means to the people who use it.  My day job has a strong C# .NET-focus – I also write a lot of JavaScript, manage servers, write build scripts, throw everything at cruisecontrol, intrigued by problems, and strive to get as much from as little work as possible.  I’m an Umbraco-certified developer, I used to write a lot of perl, I’m completely in love with git.

I also love travelling, long walks, writing, reading, music and the patchwork culture-rich world we live in.  And cakes.

I own a Nikon D90, I’ve taken pictures I’m proud of, and enjoy photography as a way to see, do, and record more.

Why?

Because you should never have to do the same thing more than once, and it should get better every time you do.  I follow the Boy Scout rule of programming, but try and apply the same to everything (and yes, I was a boy scout).

Because the world is a massive place and the people, vast.

Where?

Guildford, UK currently – with a large amount of travelling to London for work each day. I’ve also been known to live in Watford; Joplin, Missouri, US; and originally come from the sprawling metropolis that is Liphook on the Portsmouth-London route of old.
